UCSC A Counter Space

UCSC A Counter Space is a student organization dedicated to supporting Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color (BIWOC) in physics and astronomy at UC Santa Cruz. The group provides a unique supportive environment where underrepresented students can find validation, discuss challenges, and resist dominant academic cultures that have historically marginalized their experiences. Their mission focuses on improving retention rates for women from underrepresented communities in scientific fields and creating a space where members can fully express their identities as both scientists and women of color.
